AGUSA

Africa Girls United Soccer Academy

Global Partnership

AGUSA was established in 2019 as a partnership between soccer players, coaches and families in the Washington, DC area and the Khwisero Sports Academy in Kakamega County, Kenya.

Originally formed in 2001 as a school-based sports program, the Khwisero Sports Academy officially launched in 2016 to meet growing community needs and interest. They currently serve hundreds of regional young athletes including 240 girls from nine local schools, 190 of which are soccer players.

Our mission is to support these promising young girls in Africa by providing resources and promoting gender equality and women's empowerment through sport.

How You Can Help

Unfortunately, there are fewer opportunities for young girls to play sports in Africa and access to resources can be limited when compared to those available to African boys.

We want to support these young female players by helping to create a more hopeful future for them. Soccer builds confidence, teaches teamwork and fosters a strong work ethic which will give them the necessary tools to pursue lifelong achievement.

We are collecting donations which will provide gender appropriate clothing for practice sessions, uniforms for games, training equipment and other resources to assist in both individual player and team development.
